Facial Techniques Pt I: Dry Brushing
Facial Dry Brushing is an ancient technique used to stimulate circulation, drain the lymphatic system, and gently exfoliates to get rid of dead skin cells that clog pores. Other benefits include:
- Tones and firms skin
- Reduces puffiness and dark circles
- Smooths fine lines
We highly recommend that you add Dry Brushing to your weekly self-care routine. It cleanses, energizes, and refreshes. If you want to start Dry Brushing, be sure to buy specifically a dry brush for the face. We recommend the Province Apothecary brush that uses soft goat hair bristles gentle for face.
How to Use the Dry Brush:
Don't wash or moisturize face prior to dry brushing. Just as the name suggests, your skin must be dry to see the benefits. Do this before showering to stimulate and clean pores.
All motions with the brush should be directed 'up and out'. When brushing on the right side of face, stroke upwards and then outwards to the right. When brushing on the left side of face, stroke upwards and then outwards to the left. This helps with proper circulation and drainage. YES the directions matter!
